{Entertain} Drink Me

November 16, 2011 § 4 Comments

In French, it’s called {de l’eau}.  Italians call it {acqua}.  And if you are ordering in Europe, you need specify {Gas} or {No Gas}.  This would be the thirst-quenching drink, water.  A drink that’s served at every gathering but often left by the way side.

Entertaining for me is all in the details.  Serving this ice cold beverage could be so much more satisfying if only you gave it a little tjuzs.  Think presentation & flavor!  I’m not one for following the rules, so why not serve water from decanters or recycled mineral water bottles?

In my household, Pellegrino is a staple.  Always give your guests the option of still or sparkling.

Think of your infused water as a pairing with your meal.  I may use thyme or sage for our Thanksgiving feast.  As Holiday entertaining approaches, use the following list as your guide. Think infuse & savor!
  • Lemon & Basil
  • Lavender
  • Cucumber & Mint
  • Blackberries
  • Rose Petals & Mint
  • Lime, Basil & Mint
  • Raspberries & Blueberries
  • Grapefruit
  • Watermelon & Basil
  • Pineapple & Mint
  • Thyme
  • Cucumber, Mint, Lemon & Rosemary
  • Sage
XOXO,
Jill
